An integral role within our Workplace Experience & Sustainability (WEx & S) team, this incredible opportunity reports into the Snr Manager, Workplace Experience with responsibility for the development and delivery of class leading workplace technology strategy focused on employee experience, productivity, and insights to enable our people to be engaged from anywhere and ensure Softchoice continues to be an incredible place to work.   This exciting position will be at the epicenter of our Work and Workplace transformations across North America ensuring that our spaces and our team can support our people to ‘Work. Your Way’.

At Softchoice, we’re at the intersection of people, place, and technology.  This role, the first of its kind, will ensure that the WEx & S team and our workspace platforms are viewed from a digital lens, that they’re enabled to connect our people anywhere and they support us in making smart and informed real estate decisions.    As such, you will be responsible for and working with audio visual platforms (AV), space management and booking, occupancy sensors, and security technologies and many more– this is not an AV role!


A growth and curious mindset in addition to a passion for data is essential in this role; you will be the expert who is staying ahead of the curve on industry trends and best practices.


What you’ll do:


  • Working with the Snr Manager, lead the creation, alignment, management, evolution, and execution of our Workplace Technology (WT) program: vision, strategy, roadmap both near and long term, objectives, desired user experience and key dependencies;
  • Work with internal / external team(s) to design, plan, and implement workplace technology fit-outs and the associated internal technological support and resources required;
  • Partner with our Information Technology Infrastructure team(s) to articulate, define and relay WEx & S requirements / dependencies;
  • Drive innovative thinking and implement new solutions that allow for equitable experiences for employees regardless of where they work;
  • Develop and implement standards, builds, processes, policies and best practice guides for design, operations and ongoing support;
  • Partner with our Workplace Operations team on local building and landlord coordination requirements;
  • Partnering with our Sustainability Manager provide innovative leadership around how Workplace technology can help support Softchoice's green initiatives;
  • Be the go-to-person for all RE/Workplace Analytics and Insights – help the team visualize and report on what is happening in our spaces;
  • Provide a forward-looking view of occupancy & space management to identify key business decision points and options, supported by insightful, evidenced-based  data;
  • Drive a program of change utilizing data & technology to ensure the Workplace Experience function evolves to match the changing dynamics of the industry and the expectations of a multigenerational and flexible employee base;
  • Cultivates strong relationships with internal business partners across the organization based on communication, trust, integrity, & mutual goals for success;
  • Overall financial responsibility including developing and managing an overall budget for Capex and Opex associated with our WT platforms;
  • Create business case documentation and associated go-to-market requirements and content (RFI, RFP etc);
  • Act as a resource to Softchoice’s internal business groups and customers/clients to support their workplace technology initiatives;
  • High level of analysis & problem-solving skills are required. Innovative and forward thinking approaches to solving problems and planning for future projects.

What you’ll bring to the table:


  • 8+ years’ experience in Workplace operations, design, and AV – hands on experience in the workplace deploying a variety of technology tools; 
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills along with strong customer service;
  • General understanding of network fundamentals and support experience (AV, Security, printing, etc);
  • Great experience running projects with multiple stakeholders and disciplines;
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships cross-functionally with all levels of management and across multiple industries;
  • Experience in capital project delivery to ensure seamless coordination with other project dependencies;
  • Exceptional cross-functional management skills; ability to bring people together around a common goal and lead by influence;
  • A good foundation of knowledge of audio visual and network systems to relay/articulate requirements to our IT partners;
  • Understand CAD drawings, line drawings, signal flow, and AV concepts;
  • Strong written and presentation skills for high-visibility storytelling, both internally and externally; adept at synthesizing complex inputs from multiple stakeholders;
  • Ability to work autonomously and willing to take initiative to keep projects moving quickly;
  • Ability to travel and to work weekends/night as needed to meet the schedule demand;
  • Highly skilled in data analysis and building smart and efficient cross-functional processes;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fast-changing, and dynamic environment;
  • Creative problem-solver who encourages a “think outside the box” approach;
  • You experience great delight in empowering people with the technology they want and need to thrive in the workplace;
