Businesses today need to adapt at an unprecedented rate, putting new pressures on IT departments that the traditional data center simply cannot handle.  IT departments need to evolve, and leverage on-prem and off-prem solutions together to meet these demands.  The problem is, most IT departments do not know where to start.  At Softchoice, our focus is on Hybrid IT, providing clarity to which solutions best meet our customer’s changing demands, and which solutions will meet their unique requirements.  
  
As a Technical Architect – IBM Security your impact will increase IBM revenue and gross profit, with specific emphasis on IBM Security products, provide IBM program, pricing, product, and promotion expertise in support of our sales organization, execute marketing campaigns, strategies, and tactics to drive business results.  
  
What you’ll do:  

 

 

  • Providing Pre-Sales Support to the Telesales & Outbound sales organizations including top notch, end to end phone, e-mail and customer facing support on deals within prescribed thresholds.  
  • Educating and enabling the salesforce on IBM Security products and sales process.  
  • Proactively engaging in strategy and planning sessions with sales and sales managers.  
  • Deep understanding of focus IBM Security products lines and functional understanding of non-focus IBM product lines.  
  • Advising sales on proper pricing per-deal in various competitive landscapes.  
  • Managing, tracking and forecasting sales opportunity pipeline for IBM on a weekly basis.  
  • Obtaining and maintaining up-to-date IBM certifications.  
  • Attending IBM and Softchoice meetings, training, and events where required (some overnight travel required).  
  • Leveraging existing sales communication vehicles such as Playbooks, internal portals and newsletters to ensure IBM messaging is included and relevant . 

 
What you’ll bring to the table:  

 

  • Minimum of 2-4 years direct sales experience in the technology industry.  
  • Experience working with a technology reseller preferred.  
  • Current IBM Career Certifications strongly preferred  Current IBM Career Certifications strongly preferred.  
  • Industry knowledge of security solutions.
  • Understanding of network, mobile and data security solutions.
  • Working knowledge of MaaS360, QRadar and Guardium solutions or competitive solutions .
  • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Have an ability to work both individually and in a collaborative environment.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to present complex IT solution simply and possesses a positive attitude.  
  • University Degree or College Diploma with Networking focus preferred.
