The impact you will have:
The Team lead; VSS role is a great opportunity for our own Softchoice seasoned technology professionals to flex their leadership skills by taking on the responsibility and challenge of coaching, and leading 3-4 VSS’s. The Team Lead, VSS will not only lead their 3-4 VSSs, but also own some strategic buying accounts of their own. The TL; VSS will be customer and sales rep facing, both. When customer facing, the TL; VSS will be agnostic (non partial to HW vendors).
Additionally, The TL, VSS role will include other business development initiatives such as (but not limited to) sales enablement, leading sales/sales leadership meetings, leveraging reporting to identify target accounts, performance metrics, pipeline, management processes, and learning people leadership skills under the category leader. Sales execution and follow through of any operating plans or strategies is critical.
What you'll do:
- Coach and develop a small team of VSSs, reporting into the Category Leader and support the development of individual development plan for VSSs under your supervision.
- Support new VSSs throughout their onboarding into the team.
- Work with the VSSs to develop and maintain a high-performing culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Expose VSSs to different parts of their business and mentor to diversify the business.
- Develop creative ways to support and grow VSSs, as well as their ability to execute.
- Achieve team’s sales targets by ensuring the majority of VSSs are performing over plan.
- Coach by participating in customer engagement via teleconference and training sessions.
- Coach VSS and sales reps as needed when areas of opportunity or recognition needs are identified.
- Drive sales engagement activities that will generate Pipeline opportunities.
- Act as an escalation point – both internally and externally – to continue to improve customer experience.
- Tightly manage a 30, 60, and 90-day forecast.
- Escalate and engage in performance related issues with the Category Leader as appropriate.
- Develop & execute against a strong daily/weekly/monthly management process.
- Meet weekly with your team of VSSs in order to move the business forward; make decisions; inspect; coach.
- Meet regularly with Sales Leaders to align on engagement, goals, strategies and execution of activities.
- Create and maintain channels for feedback and reviews.
- Identify key contract opportunities within the specified market.
- Manage an existing book of business that contributes to the plan attainment of the team.
- Identify target accounts by using Power BI or other reports to create focus areas for sales reps and/or VSSs
- Leverage Power BI to look at your team performance and progress to targets
- Make presentations on various content related to the business.
- Engage with vendor channel managers onsite and online, virtually.
- Maintain a positive brand amongst sales teams and leaders.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Extensive experience in Partner and Sales Engagement.
- Have demonstrated the ability to Lead through Influence.
- 5-7 years sales experience with a technology reseller, and/ or vendor.
- Experience building successful and high performing teams.
- Confident in creating, pitching and perfecting customer-facing messaging.
- Proven capacity to deliver measurable impact, be analytical and consistently meet quota.
- Creative thinkers and problem solvers with strong presentations skills.
- Self-managed and motivated with leaderships skills.
- Excellent written, oral and digital communication skills.
- Strong PC OEM and other workplace hardware industry knowledge.
- Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent, preferred.
