The impact you will have:
The Supervisor, Workplace Security Architect, plays a critical role in guiding both the Softchoice Workplace Security team and our customer organizations through the complex process of Security environments. As the Supervisor, Workplace Security Architect, you will provide expert advice and hands-on leadership in designing, planning, and executing Microsoft security strategies. You will assess current IT landscapes, recommend best-fit solutions, and architect secure, scalable, and efficient security solutions. The work ensures seamless integration with minimal disruption, optimizing performance and cost-efficiency. By leveraging your expertise, you enable organizations to innovate, enhance agility, and achieve digital transformation objectives, ultimately driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll do:
You will lead and oversee implementation and migration of Microsoft Workplace Security solutions, including Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Data Compliance and Protection, Identity protection and Endpoint Management solutions. This role involves collaborating with customers to understand their business needs and technical requirements and then designing tailored security solutions. You will be responsible for defining and improving security methodologies and leveraging your team to build supporting artifacts and enable team members to thrive in migration delivery. You will coach your team members to the standards you define in pursuit of efficiency of execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a small team of direct reports holding them accountable to annual goals
- Define and improve workplace security methodologies
- Coach immediate reports as well as additional team members to standards of team practices
- Conduct detailed discovery and assessments of current environments
- Develop comprehensive implementation and migration strategies, and implement best practices for security architecture
- Ensure the security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of the solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance and hands-on technical support to facilitate seamless transitions and optimize security deployments
- Assume technical leader role during design and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Mentor team members in security practices
- Document processes, including configuration, issues encountered, and solutions implemented
- Provide regular proactive reports on the progress of projects to project managers, project team, and customers
- Responsiveness and leadership in Practice Improvement initiatives such as developing and maintaining automation scripts to streamline the process
- Timely timesheet submission and detailed work notes
- Inspection of team member timesheet submission
What you’ll bring to the table:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with a focus on workplace security architecture and implementation.
- Experience leading teams through successful workplace security projects
- The ability to lead project work, while managing team member workloads
- Experience in consulting or customer-facing roles, with a track record of delivering successful workplace security projects across various industries
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with major platforms: Microsoft and Google Workplace.
- Proficiency in security architecture, services, and tools specific to each platform
- Proven experience in designing[RP1] [AA2] scalable security environments
- Strong understanding of Microsoft security technologies, including Active Directory, Defender suite, SCCM/Intune, and Google Workplace
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerShell
- Knowledge of Messaging and Identity best practices
- Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2)
- Strong project management skills with a focus on Waterfall and Agile methodology[RP3] [AA4] , including the ability to plan, coordinate, and lead cloud migration projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative solutions that address business challenges
- Certifications: M365 Advanced security, and device management
- Travel expectation up to 10% - dependent on customer needs
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience
