The impact you'll have:


The Senior Technical Architect is a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert who helps clients modernize their security posture through strategic solution design, technical leadership, and consultative engagement. In this role, you will lead complex technical conversations, design scalable architectures aligned to client requirements, and drive successful outcomes across the sales cycle. You will work closely with sales teams to elevate security awareness, support opportunity development, and ensure customers adopt the security frameworks and technologies required to protect and transform their business.

 

What you'll do:

 

Strategic Architecture & Solution Design

  • Lead security transformation initiatives by designing modern architectures leveraging industry-leading technologies and frameworks.
  • Develop complete, scalable solution designs including BOMs, architecture diagrams, and integration recommendations.
  • Conduct technical discovery, assessments, and requirement-gathering with customers to ensure solution fit and desired business outcomes.

Sales Alignment & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a senior technical resource within security-focused sales pursuits, providing deep expertise during customer meetings, demos, workshops, and evaluations.
  • Educate and enable sales teams on security concepts, trends, and strategic solution areas to help identify and qualify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, solution teams, and delivery functions to support end-to-end opportunity development and close cycles.

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Deliver high-quality customer experiences while meeting expectations for responsiveness, technical accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Provide advisory guidance to customers across key security domains, evolving their understanding of risk, architecture, and best practices.
  • Lead customer discussions related to design decisions, implementation best practices, and roadmap planning.

Business & Services Contribution

  • Drive business outcomes through increased security solution attach rates and high-quality presales execution.
  • Author Statements of Work (SOWs) for Softchoice Services, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and alignment with customer needs.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance presales efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Scale your impact by contributing reusable content, frameworks, and methodology that raise the capability of the broader team

 

What you'll bring to the table:

 

Required

  • 2–4+ years of customer-facing technical presales or solution architecture experience focusing on cybersecurity.
  • Deep understanding of modern security architectures, frameworks, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Strong technical experience with leading security vendors (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Security, etc.).
  • Current technical certifications strongly preferred — include current and past certifications in your application.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead the technical components of a sales cycle while managing customer expectations and partnering with account teams.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and experience working in a team-selling environment.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for various audiences.
  • Proven ability to create high-quality technical documentation with attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business acumen and opportunity development.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working for a technology reseller, systems integrator, or security manufacturer.
  • University degree or college diploma in a related field.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

 

Compensation:

 

Corporate/Pay Mix: A reasonable estimate of the current OTE pay range for this position in Ontario is $98,250- $131,000.

 

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, education, and related certification. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
