The impact you will have:


As part of a critical software asset management application initiative within our organization, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Data Specialist to join our Master Data team on a short-term contract. This role is essential to the success of our project, as it involves accelerating data preparation and ensuring optimal data quality to enhance the customer experience.

We are looking for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, learns quickly, and can manage multiple systems and platforms to collect, process and analyze data efficiently. As part of this initiative, you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring data integrity and accuracy, which is critical to the success of this project and our customer experience.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Master Data, IT, digital e-commerce, and Finance to ensure proper data alignment and compatibility.  Determine scope of work required to enhance system functionality.  Utilize knowledge of system integrations and configurations in order to consult with business stakeholders on recommended solutions.
  • Data Collection and Interpretation: Extract and analyze product and contract data from multiple systems, including SAP and Salesforce, to gather information such as contact details, license entitlements, and product skus to determine impacts to integration with our software asset management system.   Collaborate with software developers and our Finance team and Master Data teams to investigate root causes of data integrity issues and recommend remediation approaches.
  • Data Curation and Preparation: Organize, validate, and curate data into well-structured formats to support integrations.  Extreme attention to detail and adherence to established data formatting standards is required. Create data quality rule validations for integrated data attributes.
  • Process Documentation: Document processes, findings, and best practices to streamline data preparation and upload activities for future use.

What you willl bring to the table:

 

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, data management, data analytics or a related field.
  • 5 years’ minimum work experience in data and business analytics, master data management or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of data quality monitoring procedures. 
  • Hands-on experience with SAP and Salesforce specific to materials, contracts and orders, with the ability to navigate and extract data from these systems efficiently
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in interpreting SQL queries
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced features such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data cleaning, and formatting.
  • Familiarity with software licensing structures and related data sets.
  • Exposure to e-commerce or asset management platforms or similar vendor portals is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while contributing to a larger project team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining 100% data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
