The impact you will have:

Responsible for the fundamental execution of SCC’s credit policy. Oversee Customers/teams in the Regions you are aligned to focusing on credit investigations, new account onboarding and financial analysis with scope being to balance our risk exposure while increasing Sales.

 

This role is hybrid with the expectation of working in the Toronto office 2-3 times per month.

 

What you’ll do:

  • KPI Accountability – Regular review and analysis of Credit lines and terms within your dedicated region/portfolio, maintenance metrics for accuracy, speed, productivity of direct reports
    • Work/help manage onboarding of new customers that align to your region
    • Ensure all requests (credit holds, credit checks, extended terms) are dispensed /actioned accurately, professionally and in a timely manner
    • Effectively assess risk and ensure sound credit decisions are made (ensuring you/your team are updating SAP with all required information)
    • Work Credit cases in SFDC aligned to your region
    • Ability to assume/perform requests during peak periods and properly load balance with rest of credit team
    • Excellent attention to detail and quickly identifies areas of risk
    • Action escalations as required
    • Provide reporting and perform productivity analysis when requested
    • Work with AR as needed to revolve delinquent accounts
    • Identify high risk industries/accounts and make recommendations to leadership
    • Build relationships with your Sales leaders attending team meetings, calls when required
    • Take Credit lead on Customer calls when required
    • Identify and help manage customers that have filed Bankruptcy  
    • Make quality decisions within established turnaround times
    • Communicate with Sales on rejected or conditional orders
    • Up to $500K Credit limit authority
    • Develop deep knowledge of all that is required for our role (by navigating operational areas /job shadow) and guide more junior team members
    • Taking the lead in scheduling training for new hires as required
    • Assist with coverage of other regions as needed
  • Process Improvements/Project Participation:
    • Participate in projects, risk related as required
    • Involved in special projects as required
    • Make recommendations for process improvements in problem areas

 

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 7+ years of B2B credit experience required
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Salesforce experience is an asset
  • Power BI experience is an asset
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a nice to have
  • Intermediate Excel experience is required
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and ratios to make recommendations to management
  • Excellent analytic and problem- solving capabilities, attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven capability for multitasking and handling of high demand/volume requests
  • Ability to support and take the lead on business coverage requirements (later shifts/ rotating midnight coverage on month ends & statutory holiday coverage)
  • Quickly learning the risks associated with the numerous products we sell to ensure sound credit decisions can be made (long term contracts)
  • Very strong organization and process skills including ability to organize hard and soft copy information, and develop and document processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative skills
  • Minimum education – university/college degree (Accounting designation, post graduate degree in business an asset) and or/Certified Credit Professional Designation through Canadian Credit Institute

 

Compensation:

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $69,000 - $93,000 CAD annually and 8% as target incentives. 

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, education, and related certification. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
