The impact you will have: 

 

As our Manager, Credit, you will be responsible for the fundamental execution of SCC’s credit policy. You will also oversee a Credit team aligned to dedicated Sales region focusing on credit investigations, new account onboarding and financial analysis with scope being reducing risk exposure for the company while increasing Sales.  This role will play a crucial part in customer relationships and will develop and implement department projects and identify ongoing strategies and process improvements, contributing to the overall success of Softchoice. 

 

What you'll do: 

 

  • Regularly review and analyze Credit lines and terms, maintain metrics for accuracy, speed and productivity of direct reports. 
  • Ensure all requests (credit holds, credit checks, extended terms) are dispensed accurately, professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Effectively assess risk and ensure sound credit decisions are made and action escalations as required.
  • Implement changes and process improvements as needed and directed.
  • Build relationships with Sales Leaders and finance to ensure that relevant information regarding transactions and customers is gathered and stored.
  • Work with higher-profile Customers (as required) securing the required documentation to support their buying level.
  • Assist with triaging actions on Bankrupt companies.
  • Oversee tactical/operational management of end-to-end customers’ assessment for terms and credit lines, account maintenance and reviews.

 

What you’ll bring to the table: 

 

  • University degree (Accounting designation, post graduate degree in business an asset).
  • Minimum 7+ years in a Credit leadership role; People leadership (3+ years).
  • SAP Experience (3+ years).
  • Certified Credit Professional Designation through Canadian Credit Institute.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and ratios, to make recommendations to management.
  • Proven capability for multitasking and handling high demand/volume requests.
  • Very strong organization and process skills including ability to organize hard and soft copy information, and develop and document processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
