The impact you will have:
The Legal Coordinator is the first legal contact for hundreds of Softchoice team members across North America. In this role, you will be a key facilitator for Softchoice's Legal Department with a primary focus on company legal support, coordinating legal workflow (including allocation of incoming legal requests), legal process management, drafting and reviewing legal and quasi-legal documentation and corresponding with internal stakeholders and external parties. Your efforts will help create and maintain the business and contractual frameworks that establish our positive, long-term relationships with customers, vendors and partners.
This role is hybrid with the expectation of working in the Toronto office once a week.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate legal workflow by:
- managing and allocating legal requests and assignments;
- assisting with approvals, execution and distribution of contracts and legal materials; and
- inputting and analyzing data with respect to legal workflow.
- Provide corporate legal support, including:
- managing Board approvals and governance processes;
- reviewing and commenting on legal agreements and documents; and
- managing minute books and record books for Softchoice.
- Manage legal process and documentation, including:
- maintaining corporate and financial information, and documentation to facilitate internal requests (e.g., W9, insurance, Tax IDs and other corporate information queries);
- assisting lawyers with completing, editing, and sealing documents;
- collaborating and liaising with internal clients (examples include: sales teams, RFP Team, Professional Services team, Managed Services team, Assessment team, Facilities, Finance, IT etc.) and external clients and partners, to provide information, guidance and updates.
- Assist with legal projects, including gathering, organizing and disseminating corporate documents required for business transactions, litigation and third-party information requests, as required.
- Manage the process governing the creation, distribution and execution of Softchoice's standard contracts.
- Provide administrative support to the SVP, Legal and other legal counsel, as applicable.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- 2+ years’ experience in a legal or related field, working in a corporate or company setting.
- Law clerk or paralegal designation required.
- You have a strong understanding of legal processes and procedures.
- You have strong skills and experience with the Microsoft suite of products and are able to quickly develop new technical skills with leading business applications.
- You have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills, and a strong attention to detail.
- You are a highly independent, trustworthy team member who is extremely efficient and productive and bring a strong work ethic.
- You are highly organized and can professionally manage many competing demands on a daily basis.
- You are customer experience focused with an ability to work with and maintain highly confidential, business critical information.
- You bring a positive, excited attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
