The impact you will have:


Do you enjoy connecting the dots? The Director of Total Rewards will lead our Compensation and Benefit team with the mandate of providing strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of Compensation and programs including base pay, sales commission, and variable pay.


You will bring deep experience in total rewards strategy and collaborate with Softchoice Executive Leadership team to support business success metrics 


What you'll do:


  • You will oversee the design and administration of compensation (commission and non-commission) programs including base pay, short- and long-term incentives, merit, compensation planning, and market analysis with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Guide our health, welfare and alternative rewards.
  • Provide support and education to management and employees to ensure full understanding of compensation programs.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to your team.
  • Lead the analysis of current compensation programs to ensure they enable the business strategy and optimize the ability to attract top talent.
  • Support the Benefits leader on selecting and administering plans.
  • Analyze market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of total rewards programs.
  • Work with the SVP, People & Growth to design and implement executive compensation strategies.
  • Partner with the SVP, People and Growth to provide insight, analysis and reporting required by the Talent and Rewards Committee.
  • Maintain current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, in Canada and the US, for Compensation and other applicable Labor and/or Tax laws and regulations; fulfills compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Create a culture within areas of responsibility that is motivated to improve processes, increase efficiency, effectively manage cost of administration, and enable the business strategy.


What you'll bring to the table:



  • 10+ years of comprehensive compensation experience, with 5+ years of people leadership experience 
  • Demonstrable track record of success in developing and implementing successful and creative Compensation Programs with an emphasis on sales compensation (Variable Sales Compensation, Executive Compensation, HRIS systems).
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other groups (Sales, Finance, Executive Team).
  • Experience developing and/or managing executive compensation plans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sales compensation programs for both Canada and US.
  • Excellent influence and negotiation skills.
  • Sense of urgency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems.
  • Modelling and strong Excel skills are highly desirable.
