  • Leading a team to deliver the right information and content to our internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner positively impacting our culture, brand, and profitability. 


Core responsibilities 

  • Defines and communicates the strategic narrative for Softchoice and our portfolios across stakeholder groups. 

  • Builds and protects Softchoice’s reputation through proactive and reactive corporate communications activities, including issues and crisis management, across a broad range of stakeholders. 

  • Provides strategic communications direction, leadership and planning across Softchoice’s business. 

  • Improves organizational effectiveness by supporting the CEO in defining and articulating Softchoice’s vision and business strategy. 

  • Aligns internal and external communications activities to our brand, purpose, and business strategy. 

  • Responsible for internal and external communications including investor communications and Softchoice’s annual report, organic social media, brand strategy and governance, and design and French translation shared services, including compliance with OQLF legislation 

  • Responsible for leading the production of the ESG report 



  • Strategic mindset and ability to understand and connect the dots across a complex business that runs in a fast-paced sector. 

  • Exceptional judgement, writing capabilities; innovative thinker who can quickly adapt and respond to changing requirements. 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of communications principles, practices and processes acquired progressively responsible experience. 

  • Comprehensive (10+ years) experience designing and executing integrated (i.e., multi-channel) communications plans. 

  • Knowledge of investor/financial communications and stakeholder management. 

  • Demonstrated issues/crisis management experience. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of and expertise in strategic communications and in the planning, execution and integration of multi-channel communications and multi-channel communications projects. 

  • Ability to influence others at all levels to achieve communications objectives. 

  • Ability to develop creative solutions that address difficult or complex issues and to provide sound advice and guidance to senior level executives. 

  • Ability to function as a trusted advisor to senior management and business leaders and to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels in the delivery of consistent, aligned communications strategies. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form close professional relationships with senior leaders, internal staff, management and internal/external stakeholders. 

  • People management/ leadership skills sufficient to lead/ motivate communication professionals in achieving the goals and objectives set out in the strategic communications plan. 

  • University degree or college diploma, or equivalent experience
