In the role of Business Consultant, you are responsible for leading transformative visioning workshops for our customers to help find and align on their North Star, their ultimate view of where they need to go as a business, in order to generate a meaningful, actionable roadmap to get there, that can drive the evolution of their organization.

 

The largest, most transformative opportunities for companies looking to utilize cloud technologies, are increasingly being driven by business needs, not IT needs.  Companies are looking for adoption of technology in service of customer impact.  The Softchoice Cloud team is seeking a Catalyst Consultant to drive business-first conversations with our customers in an interactive workshop format. This highly condensed business consulting workshop leads the sessions to align customer internal stakeholders on answering their why they need transform questions.  This leads to opening the door to an inspired and informed Journey Roadmap, their path forward and the milestones that need to be accomplished along the way.

 

As the Catalyst Consultant at Softchoice with accountability to lead the Catalyst program workshops with customers, you will also be building repeatable processes, talk tracks, supporting resources and assets in an effort to apply a constant improvement mentality to the Catalyst program.  Reporting to the Sr Manager, Catalyst Program, you will lead engagements advising customers at the highest strategic level with big-picture viewpoints applied to align tactical guidance on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes.  In order to succeed, you must possess analytical, interpersonal, and creative thinking capabilities. You will need to be ambitious, enterprising, and personable, while possessing and practicing outstanding leadership qualities, that allow you to inspire confidence in our customers.

 

For customers, the Catalyst Consultant connects them to unique perspectives and constructive disruptions that inspire them to drive the future story of their business together with Softchoice and the Softchoice solutions and services portfolio.  You make this happen by coaching clients to identify and align around their core values and how these translate into stated and desired business outcomes, opening the aperture on what is possible because of the changing landscape of Cloud technology.  

 

Who you will be working with:

 

  • Customers will be your primary audience for engagement and utilizing your skills to drive outcomes[RS1] [PO2] 
  • You will report to the Sr Manager, Catalyst Program, who owns ensuring the Catalyst Program meets the expected outcomes within the Softchoice customer engagement cycle
  • You will collaborate during almost all job functional activities with members of sales and presales teams throughout North America
  • You will be a subject matter expert on the Catalyst Program delivery methodologies and and represent the learnings you gain from our customers to the rest of the Softchoice Cloud Business Unit, a part of the Go To Market organization that sets direction and strategy for the company.
  • You will support, with your experience and subject matter expertise, the pursuit of new customers to conduct Catalyst Program activities with and support strategic design of demand generation programs.
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with Cloud Platform Partners’ team members who invest in these workshops.  Working with people from such partners as Google, Amazon and Microsoft as well as others.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • As a Catalyst Consultant, you will play a leading role supporting customers in defining their vision for where they want to take their business and how technology can help them get there, their “North Star”.
  • Your core role is to help customers identify their desired business outcomes, and to work with Softchoice presales and technical peers to provide a meaningful journey roadmap that reflects customer goals.
  • Key activities include:
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences and value through business-first visioning workshops, where success is measured by customer satisfaction and resulting follow-on services work performed by Softchoice for the customer.
  • Document the output of Catalyst workshops in valuable, consistent deliverables acceptable to a C-Level customer audience. 
  • Ensuring that the deliverables and documentation required to comply with funding requirements from our Cloud Platform Partners are completed and accepted when funding is given by those partners.
  • Leverage your own growth mindset to inspire customers and our sellers to open the aperture on what’s possible for their business in a logical, focused and actionable way.
  • Be an active leader, and play a key role in the end-to-end client engagement process from workshop planning to resulting delivered results and documentation.
  • Connect customers to unique perspectives and constructive disruptions that inspire them to drive the future story of their business together with Softchoice and the Softchoice ecosystem 
  • Support Partner and seller enablement and presales to better understand and position the Catalyst workshop with prospective customers
  • Ensure that assets created for consistent delivered value and results to customers as outcomes of the Catalyst Workshops are maintained, updated and consistent with a constant improvement cycle applied.  As new insights are gained from each customer engagement, those insights are integrated into the standards of practice for future Catalyst Program customer engagements.


What you’ll bring to the table:

 

  • Catalyst Consultants come first and foremost with a growth mindset and a passion for helping our customers have a profound impact in their industry. You are a creative, out of the box thinker who relishes first ascents.  You know and are interested in learning about customer industries, business, and how Softchoice can help them drive their digital transformation. The broad scope of responsibility of this role requires a solid understanding of both business and technology strategy, change management, a principled approach to broad digital transformation challenges and opportunities. You also have strong leadership and people skills, to create the experience that drives innovation and customer value.
  • 5+ years experience in business consulting
  • Significant expertise in group facilitation and public speaking
  • Working knowledge of Cloud technology and key players in this space, either from previous IT work or as a result of working at a technology-driven organization (e.g. a digital native company), will be rewarded
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented in how self assessment of success is understood and practiced
  • Highly personable with strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  • Passion for presenting, training, teaching either in person or via video
  • 5+ years sales or presales experience an asset
  • Ability to work remotely with experience using Miro, as well as to travel for in person engagements
