The impact you will have: 

 

The Brand & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in protecting and enhancing Softchoice’s brand and reputation. Reporting into the Manager of External Communications, this role will support Softchoice’s brand and reputation through external communications and public relations over earned and social channels, working with cross functional teams across North America.  

 

What you’ll do:    

 

  • Brand awareness and reputation
    • Assist in the development and execution of external communications strategy by working closely with different GTM teams.  
    • Attend campaign planning and status meetings to contribute to campaign messaging and ensure the brand narrative is accurately and effectively communicated.
    • Build and foster media relationships, including those with print, online and broadcast outlets. 
    • Write media materials, including press releases, key messages, spokesperson Q&A, media pitches, bylined articles.
    • Identify key industry awards and speaking opportunities for Softchoice executives and manage tracking and submissions for participation. 
  • Social media 
    • Manage Softchoice’s social media channels by reviewing and revising social media content (posts, ads and social advocacy copy) to ensure it is consistent with Softchoice’s voice, tone and editorial style 
    • Monitor social media channels for brand mentions and respond to messages  
    • Support program measurement, including the ongoing monitoring and tracking of social media metrics. 

 
What you’ll bring to the table:  

 

  • 2-4 years of progressive experience in external communications, public relations, social media or related disciplines.
  • PR agency experience preferred. 
  • Experience in B2B /B2C technology or related industries preferred.
  • Strong, creative and efficient writer with the ability to take complex information and make it accessible and easy to understand. 
  • Strong familiarity with principles of effective social media content creation and governance. 
  • Interest and experience in managing stakeholders across an organization. 
  • Excellent time and project management experience with the ability to manage complex and several smaller projects simultaneously.
  • Experience and comfort working directly with senior leaders. 
  • Post-secondary education in communications, marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
