Microsoft Senior Systems Engineer – O365 

Engineering journeys to the Microsoft cloud

That’s where you come in, as our newest Microsoft Senior Systems Engineer. Working alongside one of North America’s most trusted teams of Microsoft architects, sales professionals and project managers, your role is to connect the dots of a customer’s master vision and deliver on their Statement of Work (SOW), with incomparable attention to detail, expertise and business acumen. 

It all begins with the customer. You work closely with our pre-sales architects and outbound sales team to meet with customers, develop a deep understanding of their objectives and spot new opportunities when possible. Many technical roles happen in the back office — not this one! You act as the face of Softchoice and must be able to go above and beyond to better serve your customers and your team, at all times. 

 

What You'll Do:

Putting plans into action: You’ll put your deep Microsoft expertise and experience to work, developing a detailed, actionable Statement of Work alongside Microsoft architects and project managers. We deliver on what we promise, and it’s your job to make those promises bold, transformational and realistic. You do this by staying on top of new trends, system updates and the minutiae of core Microsoft technologies. You also continually fine tune your delivery, adoption and problem-solving skills along the way.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong communication, presentation and consulting skills, including technical writing. 
  • Microsoft technical certifications, including the MCSE, MCSA, and MCITP certifications. 
  • Travel expectation up to 25% - dependent on customer needs. 
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Cloud Identity 
  • Design and Upgrades of Active Directory infrastructures 
  • Transitioning of objects into new AD implementations 
  • Knowledge of Quest ODM-AD a plus 
  • Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 
  • Connecting On-prem AD DS to Entra ID 
  • Deploy/Configuring Entra ID 
  • Email messaging leveraging Exchange Server and Office 365 Exchange Online 
  • Transitions from Exchange Server systems to Office 365 
  • Experience with Tenant to Tenant Migrations (O365/Exchange). 
  • Migrations from non-Microsoft (Goggle) messaging platforms to Exchange Server or Office 365 a plus 
  • Knowledge of Quest ODM and BitTitan 
  • Hybrid configurations between on-premises Exchange and Office 365 
  • Associated platforms, such as message hygiene or archiving systems 
  • Understanding and experience with networking is required. 
  • Cloud Security and Governance experience is a plus. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • A high level of commitment to exceptional customer service 
  • Embrace a dynamic work environment 
  • Problem solve, take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution 
  • Are resourceful and appropriately escalate issues to solve them with assistance from peers, and colleagues 
  • Prioritize and work well under pressure 
  • Pay close attention to detail 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience, preferred
