The impact you will have:

 

We are looking for an experienced Marketing leader to build and lead a Solutions Marketing team that brings to market Softchoice Cloud, Data Centre and Network transformation, Collaboration, Security and Software Licensing Solutions.  As our Director, Solutions Marketing, you will work across our Services, Business Development/Product and Partner Marketing business units to design a successful marketing strategy for the priority portfolios and drive growth. 

 

The successful candidate will be a key player in Softchoice’s evolution from selling products to solutions and will drive portfolio marketing strategy and execution; as such, it requires significant internal and external thought leadership and the ability to drive change across a wide variety of functions. 

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Establish the marketing vision and strategy for our key solution portfolios.   

  • Build a team of solutions and services marketers; provide direction and coaching to support their personal and professional development.  

  • Introduce new processes, checklists and best practices for GTM Planning, product and services launches, sales and sales enablement.  

  • Develop deep understanding of the buying audience. Be the SME and the evangelist of customer needs. Drive a customer-centric approach in everything we do – from building marketing strategy to positioning, content, sales enablement and campaigns.  

  • Oversee and provide direction for market segmentation, propensity analysis, build buyer journeys, persona profiles, understand and communicate competitive landscape and our market opportunity.  

  • Own the success of our “Big Bets” which are key focus areas, from strategy to execution. Design integrated acquisition, cross-sell and retention campaigns, and nurture streams to drive growth. Manage budget allocation.  

  • Work across Partner category leaders and marketing managers to inform their plans and ensure our strategy interplays with partner go to market strategy and planned campaigns. 

  • Oversee and lead services and solutions market launch strategy and planning; develop tiered launch model, negotiate timelines and budgets; ensure launches are integrated with campaigns and other go to market activities.  

  • Author the solution launch plan and orchestrate its execution through external and internal communications via off-line and online marketing, external influencers, and social and internal communication channels.  

  • Oversee and develop market positioning, message maps, build relevant content for buyer roles to consume in a variety of formats, including white papers, brochures, social media, Web pages, online events and much more.  

  • Develop sales enablement content, including customer presentations, competitive battle cards, ROI tools, playbooks, call scripts, training modules, demos, and more.  

  • Be the “face” of the solutions portfolio to sales and the market, drive thought leadership, participate in customer events and build relationships with market analysts.  

  • Measure and track performance of all marketing activities and portfolio growth, report on marketing ROI, provide guidance and mentorship to the team on continuous improvements. 

 

What you'll bring to the table:

 

  • Highly attuned to the modern marketing approaches and able to design integrated marketing strategies that propel portfolio growth.  

  • Customer obsessed; able to conduct market, competitor and customer research to gather insights and assess market opportunities.

  • Understand the value services bring to the table and are able to connect buyer needs with service deliverables to create compelling audience centric packages, bundles and messaging. 

  • Passionate about enabling sales for productive conversations.  

  • Able to develop strategies for creating pipeline for new offerings through upsell, cross-sell and  account based marketing programs to grow existing wallet share. 

  • Can build relationships and influence cross-functionally as well as provide exceptional leadership and coaching to direct reports.

  • 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with 5+ years spent in product or solutions marketing.

  • 5+ years of leading and managing teams.  

  • Budget management and resource allocation experience.  

  • Proven ability to create value propositions and messaging strategies.

  • Deep understanding of the technology landscape and buyer needs specifically in Cloud and Hybrid IT offerings, as well as Managed Services competitive offerings. 

  • Highly collaborative. Experience of working in a matrix organization; proven track record of effective communication in a fluid environment with the need to engage and influence multiple stakeholders across a number of functions. 

  • Strong writing, communication, presentation development and delivery skills.

  • Critical thinking skills. 

  • Project management skills.

  • Previous sales or sales enablement experience.  

  • Self-starter, comfortable working in ambiguity and shaping new function.  

  • Familiarity with Salesforce automation, marketing automation, business intelligence, and social media platform/tools. 

  • Certified with Sirius decisions PMM, audience centric marketing and integrated campaign models and familiar with other Sirius Decisions principles is a bonus. 

  • University degree, preferred.
