The impact you'll make:
We are seeking a collaborative and results-driven Manager to lead the Microsoft Technology Associates (MTA) team. This leader will be responsible for building, developing, and scaling a high-performing team that complements Microsoft Technology Specialists (MTS) by ensuring consistent licensing execution, renewals, and customer engagement across territories. By equipping MTAs to deliver exceptional customer advisory, agreement management, and operational support, the Manager helps expand customer coverage, improve revenue efficiency, and create a strong talent pipeline for future MTSs. This role is critical to Softchoice’s growth in the Microsoft business, balancing operational excellence with strategic alignment to Microsoft priorities.
What you will do:
Team Strategy & Program Development
- Design, launch, and scale the MTA program, establishing the vision, strategy, and coverage model.
- Define KPIs and success metrics for MTAs, ensuring alignment with broader Microsoft business goals.
- Build playbooks, processes, and best practices to operationalize the MTA role across territories.
- Partner with Sales Operations and leadership to track performance, capacity, and ROI of the program.
- Continuously refine the structure and strategy based on business growth and customer needs.
Team Leadership & Development
- Hire, coach, and manage a distributed team of Microsoft Technology Associates
- Provide training on Microsoft licensing programs (EA, CSP, M365, Azure) and customer engagement best practices.
- Create clear career development paths, preparing MTAs for progression into MTS roles.
- Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and professional growth.
Coverage & Alignment
- Define and implement coverage models to ensure MTAs provide consistent engagement and operational support across all accounts in the territory.
- Partner with MTS Managers, Account Teams, and Sales Leadership to align activities with territory priorities and Microsoft business growth.
- Oversee account segmentation to balance workloads and maintain consistent customer experience.
Operational Excellence
- Establish and track KPIs for the MTA team, including renewal execution, licensing accuracy, upsell contribution, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive consistency in managing licensing milestones such as EA true-ups, renewals, and CSP billing.
- Act as an escalation point for licensing issues or customer challenges requiring leadership involvement.
- Ensure CRM (SFDC) accuracy, reporting visibility, and adherence to operational best practices.
Sales & Customer Success Enablement
- Enable MTAs to identify and qualify upsell and cross-sell opportunities (Copilot, Security, Azure Reservations, Fabric/AI).
- Collaborate with MTSs, Customer Success Managers, and Solution Architects to align licensing execution with customer adoption roadmaps.
- Leverage Microsoft incentive programs and funding to maximize customer and Softchoice value.
- Represent the MTA team in internal planning sessions and Microsoft partner alignment meetings.
Strategic Growth & Talent Pipeline
- Build a sustainable structure that scales customer engagement and licensing execution.
- Partner with Microsoft and Softchoice leadership to refine engagement models and ensure alignment with co-sell priorities.
- Champion the MTA program as a development pipeline for future MTSs, supporting long-term organizational growth.
What you'll bring to the table:
- 5+ years in technology sales, licensing, or sales leadership, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft licensing programs (EA, CSP, M365, Azure) and customer contract management.
- Proven ability to design and scale new teams, including setting KPIs, defining strategy, and building processes.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence at multiple levels.
- Track record of driving customer success, renewals, and revenue growth.
