The impact you will have:

This role is responsible for leading and driving the analysis, insights, forecasting, and financial planning for Softchoice.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Financial Modeling: Full ownership of robust financial models to support strategic business decisions, annual planning, and monthly forecasting.
  • Collaboration: Initiate, develop, and maintain effective relationships with key internal business partners to ensure alignment with strategic objectives through input gathering, assumption assessment, and variance analysis.
  • P&L Management: Review and analyze P&L results versus forecast and plan, providing detailed insights to guide business decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive PowerPoint slides for financial reporting, visualizing data, and financial metrics in an easy-to-understand manner for executive leadership and board of directors.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct regular and ad-hoc financial analysis to provide insight into the business’s performance and inform business decisions. Highlight areas for improvement and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing accuracy and efficiency in financial operations, in collaboration with senior Finance staff, leadership team, and key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach: Finance teams and other departments in financial management and process improvements.
  • Other: Requires some extended hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end. The role is of high visibility with senior leadership and the executive team, and requires demonstrating critical thinking and collaboration skills.

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Experience: 7+ years of finance experience and 4+ years of relevant progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data, uncover reasons for financial trends, and provide insightful financial analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Exceptional financial modeling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal abilities to effectively present financial information.
  • Project Management: Capability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Certification: CFA, MBA, or CPA designation is required.
